Privacy policy

We collect as little data as possible. This page explains what we collect, why, and how you stay in control.
1. Information we collect
- Newsletter: your email address, preferred language and sections, and the dates you subscribed, confirmed or unsubscribed. A subscription only becomes active after you confirm it through the link we email you.
- Contact form: your name, email address, message and IP address (used to prevent abuse).
- Abuse prevention: to limit spam and excessive requests we keep short-lived counters stored under hashed identifiers; they are deleted automatically within 48 hours.
Reading the site does not require an account, and we do not sell personal data.
2. Cookies and local storage
lamha_lang: remembers the language you chose, for up to one year.- Your light/dark theme preference is stored in your browser (localStorage) and is never sent to us.
- A session cookie is used only in the editors' control panel.
- Google services (Analytics and AdSense) may set their own cookies as described in their policies.
3. Third-party services
- Google Analytics helps us understand aggregate traffic.
- Google AdSense displays ads. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can manage personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Unsplash serves the photos directly from its servers, so it receives your IP address and standard browser information.
- Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces.
- Anthropic (Claude) receives the text of public news reports to draft summaries. No visitor data is sent.
4. Your choices and rights
- Every newsletter includes one-click unsubscribe and a link to change your preferences.
- You may ask us to access, correct or permanently delete your data via the contact page.
5. Retention
After you unsubscribe, your address is kept in an inactive state so that we never email you again; ask us and we will delete it permanently. Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to handle and answer them.
6. Changes
We may update this policy when our practices change; the date above shows the latest revision.
